New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education on Thursday announced that the class 1 board exams for classes 10 and 12 will be conducted offline and the date for the same will be announced on October 18.
According to the circular issued by CBSE, the Term-1 exam will be conducted between November-December and the duration of the exam will be 90 minutes.
CBSE said that the Term-2 exam will be conducted in the month of March-April 2022, it may be a subjective/objective type exam depending on the situation of coronavirus in the country.
The board said that all the exams will be conducted in offline mode.
Keeping in view the rising outbreak of Coronavirus, CBSE has decided to conduct the board exams in two phases this year. The syllabus is divided equally for the two exams, and marks obtained in both will be given equal weightage in the final marksheet.
To make it easier for the students, who are already suffering due to school closure for most of the academic year, the education board has decided to divide the subjects of class 10 and class 12 into two groups – short and Principal subjects.
The total CBSE board exams for class 10 and 12 are conducted for 189 papers. The board has said that it will take about 45 days to complete all the papers.
“Since the major subjects are offered by almost all the affiliated schools, the examinations for these subjects will be conducted by fixing the date sheet as before. With respect to shorter subjects, CBSE will group schools offering these subjects and thus more than one paper will be conducted by CBSE in schools in a day,” the board has said earlier.
Meanwhile, several state boards have decided to follow the CBSE model for their examinations.
Minor subjects will be examined first, followed by major subjects.
