BREAKING: CBI At Ex-Bihar CM Rabri Devi’s Residence In Alleged Land-For-Jobs Scam

Patna: A team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday reached the residence of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi in Patna in the land-for-job case. The former chief minister is an accused in the case along with her husband and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav and 14 others.

According to reports, the CBI team is currently at Rabri Devi’s residence and is currently conducting searches. CBI officials are questioning Rabri Devi in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) scam case.

The case pertains to alleged appointments made to the Railways in lieu of land gifted or sold to the family of former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav between 2004 and 2009 when he was Railway Minister.

When the Central Investigation Agency team reached the residence of the former Chief Minister of Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Rabri’s son Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and his family’s lawyer were also present.

The Rouse Avenue Court had earlier issued summons to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti and others in connection with the scam. Based on the CBI’s charge sheet, the court had asked her to appear on March 15, but the CBI team reached Rabri’s residence before the due date. The CBI is expected to summon Rabri Devi for further questioning at its office in connection with the case.

The central probe agency had in July 2022 arrested Bhola Yadav, who was the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Lalu Prasad when he was the Railways Minister, in connection with the case. The chargesheet in the case was filed on October 10 last year against 16 accused for criminal conspiracy and corruption-related offences.
