Breaking: 6 Dead, 25 Injured, 3 Coaches Derailed In Andhra As Two Passenger Trains Collided

Andhra Pradesh train collision: In a massive accident, two passenger trains collided with each other in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. As per the latest infoamtion, the accident has claimed 6 lives so far.

Meanwhile, authorities informed that at least 26 people were injured while an operation has been launched to rescue those who are trapped.

As many as 3 coaches were in the accident. Local administration and NDRF were informed for assistance and ambulances. Accident relief trains reached site.

As per the information, one of the trains that was operating from Vizianagaram to Raigada, Odisha whereas another train was running from Vishakapatnam to Palasa, Andhra Pradesh. Though the real cause of the accident has not been ascertained yet but Divisional Railway Manager informed that the major incident took place due to a rear collision between the two passenger trains.

The rescue train has arrived at the site of the train accident. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered immediate relief measures and dispatched ambulances from Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, the districts closest to Vizianagaram. Jagan Reddy also requested the authorities to make all arrangements in nearby hospitals to provide good medical care.
