Brazil Plane Crash: Brazil’s Voepass Airlines made headlines recently after one of its flights tragically crashed into a residential area in Vinhedo, resulting in the deaths of all 61 people on board, which included 57 passengers and four crew members. Among the fortunate few who narrowly escaped the disaster was a Rio de Janeiro resident named Adriano Assis, who revealed that he missed the ill-fated flight due to an airport mix-up.

A Life Saved by a Missed Plane
Assis narrowly escaped the disaster by arriving late at the airport after finishing his shift at a local hospital. Speaking with Brazilian media, Assis recounted how he arrived at the check-in counter at 9:40 am but missed the two-hour flight from Cascavel to Guarulhos due to an unexpected delay at the airport.

Grateful for a Second Chance
After learning about the crash, Assis expressed deep gratitude to the airport staff, even hugging the official who had inadvertently saved his life by not allowing him to board the flight. He explained that he arrived at the airport at 9:40 a.m., but the gate was already closed despite the flight still preparing to leave. Assis waited at the airport, expecting the gate to reopen, but no announcements were made. By 10:41 a.m., an official informed him that he wouldn’t be able to board, leading to an argument. In hindsight, Assis realized that the official’s actions had saved his life, and he hugged him, acknowledging that if the official hadn’t done his job, he might not be alive to tell the story.

Voepass Airlines Focuses on Families and Investigation
In the aftermath of the crash, Voepass Airlines stated that its primary focus was on providing support to the families of the victims and determining the cause of the accident. Emerson Massera, a spokesperson for the Brazilian military police, confirmed that there were no survivors. He described the situation as extremely tragic and emphasized that efforts were now centered on clearing the debris for investigation and identifying the victims. The plane reportedly crashed in a residential area 76 kilometers from the state capital, Curitiba.
