After garnering praise from critics and audience alike in Most Eligible Bachelor, Akhil Akkineni is all set to entertain the audience with Agent. The actors were putting in a lot of effort to make their body and appearance fit the bill. Now, much to the delight of his fans, Akhil has announced the release date of his film.
While sharing the agent’s poster on Instagram, Akhil has said that the film will be released on August 12. Holding a machine gun, Akhil looks somewhat charismatic in the poster. The actor wrote in the caption, “Brace yourself. This is going to be a WILD. It’s August 12th.”
According to the makers, since the film has a patriotic angle, they thought of releasing it closer to Independence Day. Along with this, the agent is also going to benefit from this four-day weekend.
Malayalam megastar Mammootty will play a powerful role in the upcoming film. Sakshi Vaidya is also going to debut with Surendra Reddy directed film.
Agent is being produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under AK Entertainments and Surendra 2 Cinemas. The film is co-produced by Ajay Sunkara and husband Deepa Reddy.
The music duo Hip-hop Tamizha (Aditya Ramachandran Venkatapathy and R Jeeva) are behind the composition. Rasool Elor will handle the cinematography.
Earlier in a Q&A session, Surendra’s wife Deepa Reddy had said that Agent would be dubbed in other languages and distributed across India.
Akhil’s last release Most Eligible Bachelor was a romantic comedy written and directed by Bommarilu Baskar. Apart from Akhil, Pooja Hegde, Neha Shetty, Murli Sharma and others were a part of this film. Most Eligible Bachelor was a commercial success and is streaming on Netflix.
