A five-year-old boy fell from the window of his 11th-floor flat in a housing society in south Mumbai’s Byculla area on Sunday while he was playing with an umbrella, police said.
An official said the boy was on his bed by the window of his flat, while his mother and other relatives were also in the same room when the incident took place in the morning.
“The boy probably fell while peeping out the window. He landed on a scooter parked on the side of the road. He was taken to the civic-run Nair Hospital near Mumbai Central by the locals. But, he was declared brought dead before admission. doctors,” he said.
A case of accidental death has been registered and further investigation is on, the official said.
