He expressed his profound sense of loss, deeply missing Sridevi, who could not be there to witness the moments she had always dreamt of. It was upon her advice that Boney ventured into regional cinema. He highlighted the success of his daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, and the debut of his younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, as fulfilling her dreams. Boney remarked, “My last six films in the South have been hits. But it pains me that Sridevi is not here to witness this success. That’s why I have placed her photo here; it feels like she is still with us.”
Sridevi’s Relentless Pursuit of Beauty
Boney revealed that Sridevi was committed to maintaining her physical appearance, an aspiration that drove her to pursue diets and a rigorous fitness regimen. She had a strong desire to look good, both on and off the screen, which often led her to extreme measures, including crash diets. Boney recalled that she even refrained from consuming salt as part of her dietary restrictions. Despite experiencing blackouts on multiple occasions, attributed to her low blood pressure, she adamantly resisted eating salt, even in moderation.
Boney’s Revelation About the Nature of Her Death
Boney Kapoor went on to disclose that Sridevi’s death was not a natural one but rather an accident. Initially, he had chosen not to divulge this information as he had already spent 24 to 48 hours under investigation and questioning by the police. He complied with their requests due to significant media pressure. However, all examinations, including a lie detector test, confirmed that there was no foul play involved, and the incident was indeed accidental.
A Recurring Incident
Boney Kapoor also shared a revelation from actor Nagarjuna, a co-star of Sridevi’s, who attended her funeral. Nagarjuna expressed his condolences and recounted an incident during one of her film shoots when she was on a crash diet. On that occasion, she had fallen in the bathroom, resulting in broken teeth. Sadly, she did not consider the incident seriously and did not anticipate its grave consequences.
