An FIR has been registered under the Explosives Act. The number of attackers is not yet known and CCTV footage of the area is being examined.

Bombs were hurled at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Payyannur area of ​​this northern district of Kerala on Tuesday and the party accused the CPI(M) of carrying out the attack. Police said that the incident happened around 1.00 am.

He said the number of attackers was yet to be ascertained and CCTV footage of the area was being examined to ascertain it. He said that an FIR has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Explosives Act and investigation is on to trace the culprits.

The RSS has accused CPI(M) workers of carrying out the attack. According to the CCTV footage of the attack, several explosions could be seen inside the boundary wall of the RSS office and several of its windows were damaged in the incident.

The attack comes days after a bomb was hurled at the wall of the CPI(M)’s state headquarters AKG Center on the night of June 30 and the police is yet to identify the attacker in that case.
