Avani Lekhara led the charge by clinching the gold medal in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 final, marking her second Paralympic gold and making history as the first Indian woman to do so. Mona Agarwal also brought home a bronze in the same event. Adding to India’s medal tally, Manish Narwal secured silver in the men’s air rifle category, while Preethi Pal made history by winning a bronze in the Women’s T25-100m event, becoming the first Indian para-athlete to achieve this feat.
Bollywood stars, including Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana, were quick to celebrate these remarkable achievements. Kareena shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a collage of the victorious athletes. In her story, she tagged Avani, Mona, Manish, and Preethi, writing, “Huge congratulations,” accompanied by heart and tricolor emojis.
Ayushmann Khurrana also expressed his pride on Instagram. He shared photos of the medalists, stating, “What an amazing day for India at the Paralympics. Feeling super proud,” and individually congratulated each of the athletes in his post.

Rakul Preet posted a collage of Avani and Mona, lauding their hard work and calling the moment “inspiring.”
Actor Sonu Sood, known for his support of various social causes, took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate the shooters. He shared a picture of Avani and Mona flashing victory signs, captioning it, “Proud of you both.”
