BMW 7 Series launched in India priced at Rs 1.70 crore; Check design, features

BMW is on a “launch spree” and with that, the German automaker has launched the BMW 7 Series in India with a price tag of Rs 1.70 crore (ex-showroom). The car features a brand new design language, and it debuted with the X7 facelift. In addition, BMW’s CLAR underpins the car making it an entirely new unit for the Indian market. It is worth mentioning that the car comes with major competition in the market from Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 L and Lexus LS500h.

The front end of the BMW 7 Series featured a large kidney-shaped grille with split LED lamps on either side of it. Furthermore, the car features a sleek body design similar to its electric counterpart. To complete the design, it gets flush door handles with internal touchpads. It all sits on 19-inch wheels with an option for 22-inch wheels.

The interior of the luxury sedan has very similar classy details. The sedan gets a curved infotainment screen in the cabin. It gets a 12.3-inch instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch touchscreen, which is equipped with iDrive 8 software. To take things to the next level, there’s a 31.3-inch, 8K ‘Cinema’ screen mounted on the ceiling in the rear of the cabin. Also, a 5.5-inch screen has been used on the rear door pads of the sedan.

In India, the Bavarian giant has only one engine for the BMW 7 Series in the form of a 3.0-litre, inline-six-cylinder petrol engine with 380 horsepower (740i). With mild hybrid technology, this engine is now mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the 7 Series is equipped with electronically adjustable dampers and adaptive air suspension.
