BMW India today launched a special ’50 Jahr M Edition’ of the BMW 6 Series in India to mark the 50th anniversary of the BMW M. The Limited Edition BMW 630i M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition is available at Rs.72.90 Lakh (Ex-showroom). Made locally at the BMW Group Plant Chennai, the BMW 630i M Sport Exclusive Edition comes in a petrol variant.
BMW India recently announced that to celebrate the M sub-brand it will launch 10 exclusive ’50 Zahr M Editions’ which stand for high performance adrenaline gushing cars. The BMW 6 Series ’50 Zahr M Edition’ comes with the newly added BMW LaserLight, which is unique in this vehicle segment, and delivers perfectly light up to 650 metres. From the side, the sloping-like roof oozes with coupe elegance.
The rear is modern and wide and impresses with its muscular lines, sleek rear-lit design and freeform tailpipes. The car is available in various colors including BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue Metallic, M Carbon Black, Bernina Gray Amber Effect and Mineral White, paired with Natural Leather Dakota upholstery in Cognac finish with contrast stitching.
The Comfort Access System starts the vehicle with the push of a button, while the key remains in the pocket. It also allows automatic opening/closing of the tailgate with a quick wave of the foot under the rear bumper. Features like rear-seat Entertainment Experience screen, Harman Kardon surround sound system and soft-close function for doors add to the luxurious feel.
The interiors of the BMW 6 Series ’50 Zahr M Edition’ justify that it is the perfect companion for long journeys along with high-speed performance. The seats offer fully electric adjustment with memory function on the driver as well as the passenger side. At the rear, the bench features electrically adjustable backrest angles, electrically adjusted roller sunblinds and comfy headrest cushions to provide added comfort for extended drives.

The 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine of the BMW 630i generates a maximum output of 258 hp and 400 Nm of peak torque to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 6.5 seconds. The eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission produces smooth, almost imperceptible gearshifts. For even more driving pleasure, it comes with steering wheel paddle shifters and cruise control with braking function. The standard adaptive 2-axle air suspension with its self-leveling feature maintains a constant altitude regardless of load, providing extreme comfort as well as extreme playability.
Individual electronically controlled dampers provide exceptional accuracy and improve drive and handling dynamics.
