Kabul: An explosion occurred near the residence of Akhena Afghanistan Defense Local media quoted security sources as saying that Minister Bismillah Mohamed in Kabul on Tuesday evening.
The explosion took place on August 3, at around 8 pm (local time) in the city of Kabul. Smoke was seen coming out minutes after the explosion. tolo news Reported.
“This evening’s explosion was caused by a car bomb attack near the residence of Acting Defense Minister Bismillah Mohammadi,” Afghan media said in a tweet.
This came amid heavy clashes between Afghanistan forces and Taliban in several Afghan cities. Aghan forces fought the Taliban at Lashkargah as fighting intensified in the city of southern Helmand province and the frontline was in District 1 where the US launched an airstrike on Monday morning.
Over the past few weeks, the Taliban have captured several districts in Afghanistan, including the country’s northeastern province of Takhar.
Nationwide, the Taliban controls 223 districts, of which 116 are contested and the government holds 68, according to long war journal, whose calculation corresponds with CNNis estimated. It said that 17 of the 34 provincial capitals were directly threatened by the Taliban.
