On Weverse, BLACKPINK member and singer Jennie announced that she would be singing a Christmas cover for any song recommended by her fans — fondly known as BLINKs.

South Korea’s popular girl group — BLACKPINK member Jennie Kim, better known as Jennie has come up with a delightful revelation for her fans. Jennie is currently enjoying the success of her solo hit You and Me which is raging in the international music charts. She has also ticked the right boxes with the collaborative track One Of The Girls. But even with her busy schedule, Jennie has surely not forgotten about her fans — fondly known as BLINK. To give them a special treat this December, she made an announcement on Weverse claiming that she would be singing any Christmas cover song as suggested by BLINK.

A screenshot of Jennie’s Weverse announcement is now circulating on social media. “Jennie Weverse update. BLINKs recommend any Christmas song that you want Jennie to sing!” read an X (formerly known as Twitter) post. In her statement, Jennie wrote, “BLINK, it seems like the weather has suddenly turned very cold. How is everyone taking care of themselves? The colder weather seems to signal the beginning of winter. If it’s winter, it’s Christmas, right? To be honest, I was thinking of covering a song for this holiday, but I thought it would be more meaningful if BLINK chose the song together than if I chose it alone. You all know that I miss you and I miss you a lot, right? Don’t get sick and don’t forget that I always think of you.”

As soon as Jennie revealed that she would be singing a cover this Christmas, BLINKs were ready with their song suggestions. While many of the social media users wanted her to sing, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” — originally sung by Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey, another opined, “Nat King Cole – the Christmas song would suit her voice well”. Some other suggestions included “So This is Christmas by John Lemon” and “I’ll Be Home (By: Megan Trainor)”.

On October 13, the Official Charts — a British inter-professional organisation that compiles various official record charts in the UK announced that Jennie’s solo track You and Me has bagged the 39th position on its Official Singles Chart. It is the first time that a solo artist has entered the charts, reports Soompi. Also, she is the only Korean Female Soloist whose monthly streams have surpassed 18 million listeners on Spotify, reports All Kpop.
