Bjp’s Youth Wing Hits Streets Seeking Speedy Trial Of Barhi Accused | Ranchi News – Times of India

Ranchi: The demand for fast tracking the trial of Rupesh Pandey’s alleged lynching has started to gain momentum with Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) taking out a rally on Sunday.
Over five dozen members of BJYM Ranchi Mahanagar on Sunday took out a rally from Ranchi Women’s College to Lalpur Chowk and demanded arrest of all named accused in the case and compensation to next of kin of Rupesh. The protestors also slammed the state government over law and order situation in state.
State BJYM president Kislay Tiwari said: “The manner in which the government tried to undermine the gruesome death of a poor minor whose only mistake was to take part in an idol procession is shameful. Neither chief minister Hemant Soren nor a single cabinet minister from state have even spoken to them.”
Adding further, Tiwari said: “The state government has passed an anti-lynching bill to discourage and avert these kinds of incidents but five such cases have been reported in last few months. In Rupesh’s case, the perpetrators who were involved know that the state government is acting in their favor so they aren’t scared and this is a concern for people of Jharkhand.”
Protestors also demanded that the state should also provide immediate compensation to the next of kin and all named accused should be arrested immediately.
“We demand death punishment from all the accused and the trial should be completed on a fast track basis. The police machinery failed to avoid the incident so now the onus on the is to punish them all and get justice to the family,” said Romit NarayanPresident, Ranchi Mahanagar BJYM,
