The tour, part of the Lok Sabha migration for the 2024 elections, is meant to strengthen seats considered weak. The BJP will also have a two-day executive meeting in New Delhi, where Nadda is likely to get an extension for his term as party chief.

Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have blown the election bugle for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Being top leaders of the party, both are leading by example and are set to visit each of the 12 Lok Sabha seats in January. The election tour coincides with the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The BJP will also hold its two-day national executive meeting in the national capital on January 16 and 17. It is considered significant as it comes ahead of assembly elections in a handful of states and will give direction to the party’s preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. , Nadda is likely to get an extension for his term as BJP chief in the meeting.

According to sources, both Shah and Nadda will address meetings and take stock of the organization in different states for about a week throughout the month.

Senior leaders said that in view of the Lok Sabha elections, these election tours are to strengthen the seats considered weak for the BJP.

The party has decided to involve national general secretaries and secretaries of the party to handle the diaspora. While he was left out of the Lok Sabha migration module of the first phase launched in May 2022, the party has decided to put in full force ahead of the elections.

While the number of seats for phase one was projected to be 144, the number increased to 160 after the Janata Dal (United) severed its ties with the BJP in Bihar and some seats in Maharashtra were also added.

Party sources said Shah, Nadda and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will tour the states, while central ministers have also been asked to indicate their availability for the Lok Sabha stay.

“We will soon see Union ministers visiting the seats that have been given to them and following a broad strategy given by the party. They just need to follow the list of given tasks and most of the tasks will be done. It will be a game-changer in the upcoming elections as we will win most of these vulnerable seats.

Union ministers, who have been appointed as cluster in-charges for Lok Sabha seats, have been tasked with overseeing the implementation of the campaign in the seats over the next year. During the first phase, 40 cluster communities were formed, covering all the Lok Sabha seats.

Rallies and migration of the national leadership are planned ahead of the elections for political management.
