BJP’s Chughu says that due to internal strife in Congress, morale of police fell, administration paralyzed

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday slammed the Congress for creating chaos and instability in Punjab just ahead of the state assembly elections.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Chugh said the ugly infighting in the Punjab Congress has not only crippled governance in the state, but also put Punjab at risk for national security. “ISI’s Gameplan [Pakistan’s intelligence agency] Near the borders of Punjab are evident. Infighting within the Congress government has only complicated the issue,” said Chugh, adding that if Congress allows it to continue, it could plunge the state into a serious law and order problem.

He said that the relentless attack by a section of Congress leaders on the newly appointed DGP of Punjab has demoralized the state police, now the officers are caught in uncertainty and indecision. “It is a very dangerous situation for Punjab, which has created a sense of insecurity among the people,” he said.

The BJP leader said the organizational crisis within the Congress has made Punjab a running state and it is time the people of the state decisively showed the door to the ruling party.

“In the state cabinet, tainted ministers have been inducted to maintain the mafia rule in Punjab. On the other hand, some ministers have resigned, even giving up their offices and portfolios,” said Chugh.
