It was felt that by accommodating Vasundhara Raje at the center, the BJP would be able to rein in any dissident and focus on defeating the Congress. BJP has decided not to announce any CM face before 2023 elections
According to sources, with Rajasthan going to polls next year, the BJP is looking at inducting former chief minister and senior leader Vasundhara Raje Scindia at the Centre, paving the way for a new leadership in the state.
Sources said Raje’s recent visit to Delhi to meet the top leadership is also being seen as part of the exercise.
The BJP is looking to completely change the state leadership a year before the assembly elections to stand a strong chance against the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress.
A senior BJP leader said the party has decided not to announce any chief ministerial face or candidate in the 2023 assembly polls and will contest in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“If the CM face is not declared, there is no guarantee that he will be made CM. Nor would the Center want it to spoil their chances of victory in the state. The senior BJP leader said the only bargain she could have was to accept what the Center gives her and secure her son’s future.
It was felt that accommodating Raje at the center would allow the party to rein in any dissidents and focus on defeating the Congress.
BJP national president JP Nadda will be in Sawai Madhopur to attend the ST Morcha convention on April 2. The BJP is focusing on eastern Rajasthan and its influential tribal voters.
Rajasthan has 200 assembly seats and Congress was successful in getting 100 seats in 2018. Sources further said that the leadership issues in the state were one of the reasons why the BJP lost the crucial state.
