BJP National President JP Nadda has assessed the Hung Assembly regarding the Punjab elections. Nadda said that no single party is likely to get majority in Punjab. On the question of alliance with any party after the elections, he said that it is too early to say anything about it. It will be thought of after the counting of votes on March 10. He said that the BJP wants to increase the base of the party in Punjab. He is happy that this time he will contest more seats.

Shah had said – only an astrologer can tell
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said that elections were held in a strange way in Punjab. What will be the result of voting here, only an astrologer can tell about it. Although he did give indications of a coalition government. After which there are speculations that if need be, Akali Dal and BJP can form an alliance.

The possibility of a hung assembly in Punjab is because…
This time around 5% less voting has taken place in Punjab as compared to last year. 77.20% in 2017 and 71.95% this time i.e. 2022. There was less turnout in Doaba and Majha. On the contrary, bumper voting has taken place in Malwa. Similar trend was not seen in Punjab’s voting this time. For this reason, even political experts are not able to make any kind of assessment.

Akali Dal-BJP alliance possible
There may be an alliance of Akali Dal and BJP in Punjab. The Akali-BJP alliance has been in power in Punjab thrice in 25 years, winning assembly elections in 1997, 2007 and 2012. The agricultural reform laws, which were the reason for the break-up of the Akali Dal and BJP alliance, have been withdrawn. The Akali Dal did not make any major attack on the BJP, Captain Amarinder Singh and Sukhdev Dhindsa. The relationship between Akali Dal and BJP also looked soft.
