BJP MP, Deoghar official spar over airport ‘security breach’ | Ranchi News – Times of India

DUMKA/RANCHI: The long standing face-off between BJP MP from Godda, Nishikant Dubey, and Deoghar deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri turned ugly late on Friday with both sides filing cases against each other for alleged violation of aviation norms and security breaches at Deoghar airport on August 31.
On that day, Dubey had led a delegation of BJP MPs and his supporters to Dumka from Delhi via Deoghar to meet the kin of the Class 12 girl who was burnt to death by a stalker two weeks ago. He had returned the same evening to Delhi. The death of the girl had led to a massive political slugfest between the governing and opposition camps amid a politically volatile situation in Jharkhand.
Both Dubey and Bhajantri filed police cases against each other followed by a heated Twitter war since Friday.
According to Deoghar police, they formally booked nine peope on Thursday, including Dubey, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, party leader Kapil Mishra, Sunil Tiwari (Babulal Marandi’s political adviser), Dubey’s two sons, Kanishk and Mahikant, Deoghar airport director Sandeep Dhingra, Seshadri Dubey and Devta Pandey, for allegedly forcing air traffic control (ATC) at Deoghar airport to permit an aircraft to take off after the permissible time to return to Delhi on Wednesday.
Kunda police station in-charge Praveen Kumar said, “The FIR has been filed on September 1 based on the statement of the airport security-in-charge Suman Anand, who accused MP Dubey of misusing his power to obtain flying clearance for the take-off of the aircraft despite the ATC not giving its nod to the aircraft for night take-off or landing.”
Dubey tweeted he, too, has filed a counter-case against Bhajantri in Delhi for stopping him from his work as chairman of Deoghar airport board, illegal trespass and intimidation, among others.
