BJP is targeting Jain community, Akhilesh’s allegation. India News – Times of India

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday alleged that the ruling BJP is targeting the minority Jain community and does not want it to prosper.
The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said this while referring to the recent raids by central agencies on the premises of two perfume traders in the state.
Both the traders – Piyush Jain and Pushpraj Jain – belong to the community.
Pushpraj Jain He is also MLC of Samajwadi Party (SP).
Beginning the 10th phase of the Samajwadi Vijay Yatra after having darshan of Lord Parashuram at a temple here, Yadav said, “The BJP is not only an enemy of development but also of minorities.”
Referring to the raids on perfume traders in Kanpur and Kannauj, Yadav said, “These people are conducting raids because the people of Jain community are a minority. These people (BJP) do not want the Jain community to prosper.
He claimed that the money recovered during raids in Kanpur (in Piyush Jain’s premises) belonged to the BJP.
He alleged that the money kept “inside the walls” and counted belonged to the BJP.
Yadav claimed that the BJP was pointing fingers at the SP with reference to party MLC and perfume trader Pushpraj Jain to save itself from being maligned and justify its wrong decisions.
The Finance Ministry had said that Rs 177 crore was recovered from Piyush Jain’s premises in Kanpur and it was the “largest ever seizure of cash” by an enforcement agency.
BJP leaders have sought to link Piyush Jain with the SP, claiming that he had recently launched “Samajwadi Attar” (perfume) with Yadav’s support.
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday categorically denied any connection between his party and Piyush Jain, and joked that the BJP “accidentally” raided “its own businessman”.
He said the “Samajwadi Attar” was launched by SP MLC Pushpraj Jain.
The SP chief also listed out the welfare and development works done by his government and accused the BJP of stalling them.
Yadav said, “Every section of the society wants change as people have been subjected to misery and harassment during the BJP’s four-and-a-half year rule.”
He said that after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, his party’s government had built a stadium here.
Taking a jibe at the Chief Minister of UP Yogi AdityanathHe said, “Can Baba ‘Chief Minister’ (CM) play cricket? Can Baba ‘Chief Minister’ catch the ball like a wicket-keeper? Can Baba ‘Chief Minister’ take catches? Does Baba ‘Chief Minister’ do fielding? ”
Earlier in the day, Yadav started the 10th leg of his party’s journey from the Gosainganj area after offering prayers at the temple of Lord Parashuram.
In a statement, the party said Yadav along with former SP MLA from Lambhua (Sultanpur) Santosh Pandey paid floral tributes at the 68-feet tall statue of Lord Parashuram.
Hoardings reading “Brahman ka sankalp, Akhilesh hi vikalp” (Brahmin’s pledge, Akhilesh is the only option), were put up.
The move is being seen as an attempt to woo Brahmin voters ahead of the assembly elections in the state.
Family members of BSP MLA expelled from Chilupar seat of Gorakhpur, Vinay Shankar Tiwari, were present on the occasion.

On 12 December, the Samajwadi Party suffered a bullet in the arm when two sitting MLAs – Vinay Shankar Tiwari (BSP) and Digvijay Narayan of the BJP from the Khalilabad constituency of Sant Kabir Nagar joined the party.
Former UP Legislative Council president Ganesh Shankar Pandey also joined the Samajwadi Party.
