BJP aims to make PM Modi’s birthday historic by giving record COVID vaccine doses.

Sources said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday historic on Friday, setting a record for the maximum number of COVID-19 vaccine immunizations on that day.

To achieve this milestone, the BJP is mobilizing its health volunteers to ensure that as many people as possible get their COVID-19 vaccines during the day. India has administered more than one crore COVID-19 vaccines in a day on earlier occasions. The target the BJP is aspiring for is to get over 1.5 crore vaccines administered on Friday.

Senior party leaders said the party would try to see that the day would be recorded in the history of the country, which administered a record number of COVID-19 vaccines. BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh, who is also in charge of the health volunteers’ initiative, said party chief JP Nadda wanted to celebrate the prime minister’s birthday in a special way.

“What can be more special than protecting the people for whom the Prime Minister is working day and night. It is a matter of pride that we have two COVID vaccines to our name and we have been able to save the citizens from this deadly pandemic. It would be a fitting tribute to PM Modi, who worked hard to keep people safe from Covid,” said Chugh.

With the world grappling with the impact of COVID-19, India attempted to fight the pandemic. Senior BJP leaders said that this would also be a befitting reply to those who tried to create hesitation among people for purely political reasons to make the vaccine and thus put people’s lives at risk.

In a nationwide immunization drive, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the 77 crore milestone (77,17,36,406) on Thursday. 57,11,488 vaccine doses were given till 7 pm on Thursday.
