The Mi-17V5 is considered one of the “safest” and “most modern” military transport helicopters. Most likely the cause of the accident is foggy weather on the Nilgiri hills which reduced visibility due to which the helicopter crashed and CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others died in the accident.
