Bihar’s youth killed a six-year-old innocent, buried the dead body in his house

In a shocking incident, a history-sheeter in Bihar’s Sapaul district allegedly abducted and killed a six-year-old girl after seeing her stealing from her house.

According to the police, the incident came to light on Wednesday morning after digging the body of the minor from the house of the accused in Ward 18 of Islampur under Sadar police station area.

The accused has been identified as Mohammad Rashid, who has a criminal history.

A senior police officer of Sadar police station said, “His family lodged a missing complaint after he was not found in the evening. Since the missing person was a minor, we registered a case of kidnapping.

The officer further said that the girl’s family told us that she was last seen playing in front of the accused’s house. The victim has been identified as Sanya alias Sapna. During investigation, the police came to know that the girl was playing outside Rashid’s house and had seen her stealing.

“On suspicion, we searched his house. The floor of one of his rooms was uneven and looked as if it had been freshly dug. On questioning, he tried to run away, but was caught by the neighbors. When we excavated the spot, Sapna’s body was recovered,” said the officer.

According to the police, during interrogation Rashid revealed that Sapna had seen him stealing. So he kidnapped Sapna while she was playing outside her house. Then the accused strangled her to death and slit her throat. He buried her body inside his house to hide the crime.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Inder Prakash told the media that they have sent the body for postmortem and the cause of death would be clear only after the post-mortem report comes.

The officer further said that the accused has a criminal history and has already served his jail term on charges of chain snatching, robbery and theft.
