Bihar Unlock 4: Educational institutions allowed to reopen, restaurants to operate at 50% capacity

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced the guidelines for phase 4 unlock following a sharp drop in the number of COVID cases in the state. Bihar CM said that after reviewing the situation of Corona, it has been decided to relax the state further as Unlock 3 ends on 6th July.

Here are the new guidelines issued by the Bihar government:

  • All government, non-government offices will open normally. Vaccinated visitors will be able to enter the office.
  • Universities, all colleges, technical educational institutions, government training institutes, schools up to class XI and XII will open with 50% students attendance.
  • Special arrangements for vaccination will be made for adult students, teachers and staff of educational institutions.
  • Restaurants and eateries can operate with 50% seating capacity following all COVID guidelines.

It is being speculated that in the next guideline, the government may allow classes up to class IX and X to operate on a normal basis. However, with the new guidelines of the government, the hope for students to return to educational institutions has increased. Coaching institutes will now be able to open for competitive exams. However, they will have to follow the new COVID guidelines.

As per the latest health bulletin, Bihar has registered 109 new Covid cases and 211 have recovered in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate of the state is 98.47 per cent which is higher than that of the Centre.
