Bihar JDU MP Kaushalendra Kumar has demanded a ban on Bajrang Dal.

Kumar, the Lok Sabha MP from Nalanda, said, “I firmly believe that if an organization like Bajrang Dal does good work, we will appreciate it but if people of this organization are involved in wrongdoings, we will not tolerate it.”

He further said that if the state government does not ban Bajrang Dal, he will do so himself.

Kumar made the remarks in the wake of the violence in Biharsharif Nalanda during Ram Navami this year.

“I am a Hindu and whenever I come in front of any Hanuman temple, my head automatically bows before our Lord Bajrang Bali. He (Lord Hanuman) has not instructed people to assemble in Bihar Sharif and commit hooliganism and communal riots. What the members of Bajrang Dal are doing in the name of Lord Hanuman is absolutely wrong.

He said, ‘I had suggested to the District Magistrate of Nalanda that the number of people participating in the Ram Navami procession should be fixed, but it did not happen. People came from Patna and other districts and assembled in Biharsharif in large numbers. They reach there in the name of Lord Rama and become victims of a well-planned conspiracy. That’s why I have demanded that the state government should ban Bajrang Dal. If she doesn’t do that, I will ban her,” Kumar said.
