Darbhanga: Chief priest of Kanakali temple shot dead Ram Bagh area of A state in Eastern India‘s Darbhanga district on Thursday
The reasons for the crime are yet to be ascertained.
According to the police, a person accused in the case was lynched to death by the locals. Two others were arrested and are currently undergoing treatment at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). Their condition is said to be critical.
After getting information about the incident, Mr. Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) krishnanandan Reached the spot and started investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the police has sent the body to DMCH for post-mortem.
The information about the firing in the temple was received by Abhishek Jha, the neighbor of the priest. When he reached the temple, he found that the priest had been shot. He was then taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
A pistol and two to three fired shells have been recovered from the spot, police said.
The inspection of the matter is going on.
