New Delhi: The Bihar government in association with META-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has launched a chatbot named ‘Vaccine Mitra’. The chatbot can be accessed by simply sending ‘Hi’ on this link https://wa.me/919431025555 or +91 9431025555 to this number.
It is free to use and is available in English and Hindi languages. The chatbot has been developed with an aim to provide detailed information about covid vaccines with the aim of promoting the covid-19 vaccination campaign in the state of Bihar, thus, helping the administration to reach out and address queries.
Built with simple interface, users will be able to select ‘quick reply’ instead of typing their questions in the chat window. Through the ‘Quick Reply’ prompt of the chatbot, users will be able to search for the nearest vaccination centre, gain awareness about Covid-19 vaccines and know other relevant things regarding vaccination.
“Vaccine Mitra is a step towards assisting citizens digitally with easy access to vaccination related information. We hope the citizens of Bihar will find it useful and together we will achieve success by vaccinating the entire population,” said Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey.
Additional chief secretary of the health department, Pratyaya Amrit, said the people of Bihar should “use chatbots and do publicity.”

On the national front, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a review meeting on November 3 with district magistrates of districts where the first dose vaccination coverage for adults is less than 50%. According to government data, Araria district of Bihar is also in the list of 40 districts where less than 50 percent of adults have not been vaccinated with the first dose. Data reported that arrearea is close to reaching 50%, with the first dose of vaccines for adults making up 49.6%.
