NOIDA: Ahead of the state assembly elections, the Noida Police on Monday claimed to have arrested an interstate smuggler who allegedly bought guns. A state in Eastern India And sold them to criminals in Delhi-NCR.

During interrogation, the police said that the accused disclosed that he used to smuggle guns made in Munger to Delhi-NCR. “They have named two others who are involved in the same act,” Verma said.
Police claimed that illegal gun dealers based in Munger have deputed their delivery men in each district of UP and the transactions are being done online.
“A delivery man is being paid Rs 1,000 for a pistol along with transport allowance and daily allowance. The route and mode of transport for the delivery man and modus operandi to evade arrest varies from time to time,” Verma said. The 0.32 bore Munger pistol sells between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 in the state, while the Khandwa pistol is available between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. “Our teams are working in coordination with Bihar Police to break this nexus,” the ACP said.
