Nitish Kumar met the Dalai Lama Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday met Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama in Bodh Gaya, where the Dalai Lama is on annual retreat after a gap of two years. The Bihar CM also addressed the media after coming from the temple and spending some time near the Bodhi tree.

“Every year, during this time, a large number of people come to Bodh Gaya where they pray and listen to sermons. The age-old tradition could not be followed for the last two years due to the pandemic. Thankfully, it has started again. However, we are cautious due to the fresh spike in Covid cases reported from other parts of the world,” Kumar told reporters.

He further said, “I am told that the number of people visiting Bodh Gaya is in lakhs. It is a matter of happiness and pride for us. But due to the recent spurt, the authorities have been instructed to test foreign nationals. ”

Kumar claims he has ‘old and deep ties’ with the Dalai Lama
