Patna: Vishal Vaibhav of Sitamarhi has shared the top rank in Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main) 2021 with 17 others in the country. Vaibhav also had the honor of scoring along with Kumar Satyadarshi (AIR 11) of Begusarai. 100 percentile along with 42 other candidates across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday evening declared the final merit list results based on the performance of all the four JEE (Mains). Richa Kumari was the state topper in the girls’ category with 99.88 percentile.
Vaibhav cleared the exam in his second attempt and is studying for 15 hours a day to crack JEE (Advanced). “My aim is to get admission in computer science in IIT-Bombay. I solve more and more question papers and practice papers every day for him,” he said.
His father Prabhakar Kumar works in an insurance company and mother Madhuri Mishra is a housewife. He is very happy with the success of his son.
Satyadarshi from Pokharia in Begusarai said that he never dreamed of becoming the top scorer in the examination. “I am very happy that my hard work paid off. I started concentrating on JEE exam when I was in class X. After my class X board exams, I moved to Kota to prepare for JEE. Covid-inspired After the lockdown, I returned home and focused only on my studies. I took the lockdown period in a positive manner and devoted most of my time to self-study,” he said.
The boy, who scored 94.6% in Class XII this year, said that he never studied to crack a competitive exam. “I try to understand things and memorize concept and formulae. I want to explore more in the field of science especially quantum physics. Right now, I am focusing on JEE (Advanced),” Satyadarshi told this newspaper on Wednesday.
His father Ramvilas Kumar is the headmaster of Government Middle School at Sahebpur Kamal, Begusarai and mother Preeta Kumari is a housewife. Saydarshi has already got admission in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. “I got admission on the percentile I earned in JEE Main. I have got 100 percentile in maths and 99.97 percentile in physics and chemistry. However, I still want to appear for JEE (Advanced) only to see how capable I am,” said the boy.
Qualified candidates will appear for JEE (Advanced) scheduled on October 3. It is a one-stop exam to get admission in 23 leading Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
