Season 5 of the popular reality TV show Bigg Boss Tamil started last Sunday on Vijay TV. Host Kamal Haasan introduced the 18 contestants to the nation on TV before entering the house.
Madhumita, Musicians Raju Jayamohan, Isaivani, Abhishek Raja, Priyanka, Namita Marimuthu, Chinna Ponnu, Abhinay Wadi, Nadia Chang, Varun, Bhavani, Nadia Sang, Iman Annachi, Iki Berry, Akshara, Sibi Chandran, Tamrai Selvi, Shruti and Nirup Nandakumar had entered the house on October 3.
On Tuesday, the contestants were divided into four teams led by Namitha, Raju, Pavani Reddy and Chinna Ponnu. The leaders were selected voluntarily as it is only the first week of the show. Viewers, however, have complained that the show is not focused on one thing.
Hence, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to spice things up for the audience. This time there is also the concept of ‘Underground Jail’ for the contestants.
In the first promo released on Wednesday morning, singer Isaiwani was seen talking about the struggles and hardships she faced in her life. His father, who worked as a porter, struggled a lot to make a living.
There were days, Isaiwani said, that he had to sleep without eating because there was not enough for everyone. He was evicted from his residence more than once. The heart-wrenching story made everyone cry. Isaiwani, incidentally, is the first female gana singer and recipient of the BBC 100 award. In the same promo, Chinna Ponnu was seen singing.
The reality show is being hosted by Tamil superstar actor Kamal Haasan, who has been associated with the show since its first season.
