Bigg Boss Tamil 5: Meet Abhinay Vaddi, the actor and farmer participating in the show

The much-awaited fifth season of Bigg Boss Tamil premiered on Sunday night. Actor Kamal Haasan is hosting the reality show for the fifth time in a row. In the premiere episode, Kamal welcomed 18 contestants to the show, which will be aired for 100 days on Vijay television channel. The contestants of the show have come from diverse fields like acting, singing, TV hosting and entrepreneurship. As per the COVID-19 protocol, all the contestants have to undergo mandatory quarantine.

Actor and agriculturist Abhinay Vaddi is one of the 18 contestants participating in the show. He is the grandson of late actor Gemini Ganesan. Abhinay played the lead role in the 2014 biographical film ‘Ramanujan’ based on the life of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The film marked his Tamil debut in acting. In 2010, she made her film debut in the Telugu film Young India. Acting’s interest is in agriculture and farming. He runs his own farm in Chennai.

After appearing on the show, Abhinay told the show host Haasan and the audience that he was leasing lands to the poor who cannot do agriculture at the moment. He said that he is cultivating various crops with the owners of the land (the poor).

Apart from acting, there are 17 other contestants entering the house – Isai Vani, Madhumitha, Namitha Marimuthu, Abhishek Raja, Priyanka Deshpande, Pavani, Chinna Ponnu, Nadia Chang, Varun, Imman Annachi, Suruthi, Akshara Reddy, Iykki Berry , Thamarai Selvi, Sibi, Raju, and Nirup.

The first season of Bigg Boss Tamil was aired in 2017. The show, which usually starts in late June, started later this year due to the COVID pandemic. In this edition, there is an underground jail in Bigg Boss house. In the premiere episode on Sunday, Haasan wished everyone the best and promised to see them next week.
