Bigg Boss 15: Umar Riaz clarifies on old tweet pushing Asim Riaz on Siddharth Shukla

Earlier this month, Umar Riaz was kicked out of Bigg Boss 15 after a physical altercation with Prateek Sahajpal. During a task, Umar (Bigg Boss 13 runner-up Asim Riaz’s brother) forcefully pushes Prateik, due to which he was kicked out of the reality show. While many supported his removal, some were of the opinion that it was unfair to the BB contestant. Soon after his expulsion, fans scoured an old tweet shared by Umar in 2019. In a social media post, she slammed Sidharth Shukla after he pushed his brother Asim during a task in Bigg Boss 13.

Now, while talking to a media outlet, Umar clarified on his old tweet which went viral recently. “I agree that I said it was not right for Siddharth to push Asim, but I never said that he should be removed from the show. Whenever people asked me, I used to say that he should be punished in the house itself. Should get it.”

In their season, Asim and Sidharth were known for their aggressive game and on several occasions, the two came face to face with each other before being separated by their family members. Referring to the same, Umar had tweeted, “Let’s start this. Big Boss cannot publicize such behavior on national television. Time and again Sid has pushed Asim. We want justice for Asim! (sic)”.

Apart from the clarification, Umar also admitted that it is difficult to maintain his composure inside the Bigg Boss house. “It’s hard to control your emotions in this house,” he said.

Meanwhile, Umar who is a surgeon by profession received immense love and support from fans after his expulsion. Umar’s name hashtags trended a lot on Twitter during his stint in the show and even after he was evicted from the Bigg Boss 15 house, fans continued to shower love on him.

According to a recent report, Umar surpassed the choice of the winner of Bigg Boss 14 Rubina Dilaiqui, Bigg Boss 13 winners Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill when it comes to the most talked about celebrities of the show on Twitter. After his eviction, the hashtag ‘Public Winner Umar Riaz’ was trending on the microblogging site and the trend garnered over 17 million tweets, making it the biggest trend in the history of Bigg Boss.

Omar also shared this information on his Instagram story and said, “History has been made. Highgash trend of over 17 million in BB history. Love and respect.” He sent a thank you message to the fans with folded hands emoji.

The reality show has been extended by two weeks and is expected to continue till the end of January.
