The much awaited film KGF Chapter 2 is all set to release in April this year. Noting that fans are eager to see Kannada actor Yash back on screen, the makers have announced that the trailer of the film is all set to release later this month. Director Prashanth Neel announced on Twitter that the trailer of KGF 2 will release on March 24. Sharing a new poster of the film, Prashant wrote, “There’s always a thunder before a storm! #KGFChapter2 Trailer March 27 at 6:40 PM.”
The trailer announcement date comes a month after Prashanth shared a poster of Yash from the film and confirmed that the film will release on April 14 as per its schedule. “Caution warnings are a sign of danger ahead! Happy Birthday my Rocky @Thenameisyash. Can’t wait for this monster to conquer the world on April 14th, 2022.”
KGF: Chapter 1, which released in 2018, was a huge hit. The film featured Yash in the role of Rocky, who was determined to keep the promise made to his dying mother – that he would not die poor. While Yash will reprise his role as Rocky in the sequel, Sanjay Dutt will star as Adheera, Rocky’s nemesis. Raveena Tandon will be seen playing the role of Ramika Sen, a powerful political leader.
It was earlier reported that Raveena’s character is based on the late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. However, while talking to News18, Raveena denied the connection. “There is nothing about Indira Gandhi in this film. Neither my look is like him nor my character is inspired by him. Nor have we taken any such reference. The film is set in the 80s and since I am playing the role of a prime minister in the film, there were many speculations that I will be playing the role of Indira Gandhi in the film.”
KGF 2 will release in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. It is presented by AA Films, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment and Vijay Kiragandur of Homeable Films. The clash of the film will be with Shahid Kapoor’s jersey.
