Major reshuffles are going to happen in Andhra Pradesh before the 2024 assembly elections. Here the CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is about to dissolve the cabinet and appoint new ministers. The resignations of the ministers will be sought in the cabinet meeting to be held at 3 pm today. It is believed that 90% of the total 24 ministers may resign.

A total of 20 points agenda has been prepared for this meeting. According to sources, only one or two ministers present in the cabinet will be given a place again. This will happen only because they will be the only elected representatives of that community.

Oath likely on April 9
This change was highly likely, as soon after the massive victory in the 2019 elections, Jagan Reddy announced that he would elect an entirely new team in the half-time of his term. This reshuffle in the cabinet was to be held in December last year itself, but it had to be postponed due to Corona.

Chief Minister Jagan met Governor Vishwabhushan Harichandan last evening and informed him about the changes in the cabinet. It is likely that he will meet the Governor again tomorrow and submit the list of new ministers. These ministers can take oath on 9 April.

Election of ministers from 26 new districts
In the new cabinet, ministers can be made from each of the 26 new districts. In this case, people of every caste, region, religion and male and female will be given a place. The balance was kept by Jagan Mohan when he took charge as Chief Minister in June 2019.

Jagan Mohan had elected a total of 5 Deputy CMs from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Kapus and Muslim communities. Three women were included in the cabinet. Among them, Home Minister M Sucharita was from the Dalit community. The same equation can be re-formed.

Will take on new responsibility in the party
A minister said that the removal of ministers does not mean poor performance. The ministers know that most of them will not find a place in the new cabinet. He is likely to be given a party role. The coordination that he has developed as a minister will be used for coordination between districts.
