Big offer to Chiranjeevi’s godfather for digital, satellite rights of Hindi version

Chiranjeevi’s fans are eagerly waiting for his next film Godfather. Malayalam blockbuster, directed by Mohan Raja, is the official Telugu remake of Lucifer. The Godfather has garnered tremendous buzz on social media and the film is trending on Twitter for the past few days.

If reports are to be believed, the makers of Godfather have received an offer of Rs 45 crore for the digital and satellite rights of the Hindi version of the film. Though the release date of The Godfather is yet to be decided, this offer is an indication that the film will do well at the box office.

The Godfather is being bankrolled by Super Good Films and Chiranjeevi’s Konidela Productions. In May, its filmmakers revealed that Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan Will be seen in a song together. Prabhu Deva will choreograph this song. Significantly, Salman Khan is playing an important cameo in Godfather.

Chiranjeevi was last seen in Kortala Shiva’s Acharya. The film received average reviews from critics and did not do well at the box office. Acharya portrayed a talented star cast which included Ram Charan, Pooja Hegde, Kajal Aggarwal and Sonu Sood. The story of Acharya revolves around a Naxalite turned social reformer and his fight against systemic corruption in the Endowments Department.

After Acharya bombed at the box office, there were reports that the distributors wrote to Chiranjeevi requesting the superstar to compensate the loss due to the film’s poor box office performance. Streaming of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan-starrer begins amazon prime Video 20 May.

Apart from Godfather, Chiranjeevi will also star in director Meher Ramesh’s Bhola Shankar. The film is a Telugu remake of Vedalam and also stars Keerthy Suresh.
