During the vaccination drive here on Tuesday, a nurse gave an injection of anti-rabies (injection for dog bite) to a person. However, after getting information about this, on the instructions of the Health Department, the accused nurse and the doctor in charge of this drive have been suspended.

Additional Commissioner of Thane Municipal Corporation Sandeep Malvi said that the incident is from the health center of Kalwa area of ​​Thane. We have suspended the nurse and the doctor who administered the anti-rabies injection. The whole matter is being investigated and the one who has been vaccinated has been kept under the supervision of doctors.

Confusion due to wrong line
Sandeep Malvi told that Rajkumar Yadav had come to the health center to get the dose of Kovishield vaccine, but by mistake he got into the queue where anti-rabies injection is given. At the same time, health center nurse Kirti Popre gave injection without looking at the case paper of Rajkumar Yadav. Sandeep further said that it was the duty of the nurse to examine the case paper of the patient before administering the vaccine.

Such negligence also came to the fore in UP.
Similar negligence was reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli in March last. Here 3 women were injected with anti rabies instead of corona. Out of these, the matter came to light after the health of a 70-year-old woman deteriorated. All three women were over 60 years old.
