A replica of the flag presented to the unit may be worn by all officers and ranks of the force as an insignia on their uniforms.

On Left-wing extremism (LWE), Shah said the number of districts reporting such incidents is set to drop from 96 to 46 in 2021.

He said that there has been a 70 per cent reduction in all kinds of violence under Left Wing Extremism.

“This shows that the country will completely get rid of the problem of Left Wing Extremism in a very short time,” Shah said.

He said that under the drug-free campaign of the Modi government, the Home Department is taking it forward in coordination with the state governments.

“We have taken steps to eliminate the narcotics menace”, he stressed, adding that the recovery in this regard is huge.

“We are bringing changes in CrPC, IPC and Evidence Act, which will make it mandatory for forensic science (experts) to visit for offenses punishable with six years or more,” he said.

He expressed confidence that this step would bring down the crime rate drastically.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Home Minister Anil Vij, Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Shah also took the salute of the parade organized in Madhuban.
