21-year-old Avtar Singh climbed the Khardungla top by cycling at a height of 17853 feet. Avatar has registered his name in the European Book of World Records by covering 400 kms in 8 days. He is a resident of village Panniwala in Sirsa district and is studying BA.

Avtar Singh told that he rides a bicycle for his hobby. But when he went to visit Leh-Ladakh, he felt like cycling there. Then a thought came in his heart that why not do something different. In this Khurafat, after cycling for 8 days on a mountainous and snowy road, he completed a 400 km long journey passing through Rohtang. Decided and made Khardungla Top Fateh.

Next Target Siachen Glacier
Avtar Singh told that his next goal is to set a new world record by cycling till Siachen Glacier. By the way, I am the first traveler to reach Khardungla Top by bicycle while passing near Rohtang. The European Book of World Records has also issued a certificate. At the same time, there is a problem of lack of oxygen at high altitude during the journey. Many passengers had returned on the way.

Avtar told that after going to an altitude of 14 thousand feet, it became difficult for him to move forward due to snowfall and bad road. He did not give up and kept on moving forward. Once he even fell down with his bicycle, due to which he also got hurt. To overcome the lack of oxygen, he used to inhale camphor by burning it, so that there could be some relief.

Avtar Singh is preparing for UPSC
Avtar Singh, who is studying at Chaudhary Devi Lal University of Sirsa, is also preparing for UPSC. His father Balraj Singh does farming in village Panniwala Mota. He was suggested by retired Lt Col PK Reddy to pursue cycling. He had met him during the preparation of UPSC in Dehradun.
