Created by Raj & DK and starring Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, and Bhuvan Arora, the show’s gripping narrative and standout performances have captured viewers’ attention. Last year, Shahid Kapoor confirmed to Pinkvilla that the series would return for a second season. Now, Bhuvan Arora, who played Shahid’s loyal friend Firoz in the show, has shared a crucial update. In a recent interview with Digital Commentary on YouTube, Bhuvan revealed that Farzi Season 2 is officially in pre-production.
“Aa rahi hai, pakka aa rahi hai,” Bhuvan said, reassuring fans. “The writers’ room is on. We haven’t officially announced it yet, but I think we are doing it. Everybody is busy at the moment. Sab log apna apna kaam kar rahe hain.” His words confirm that the creative team is actively developing the storyline for the next chapter of the popular series.
During the interview, Bhuvan also reflected on his experience working with industry heavyweights like Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon. Praising his co-stars, Bhuvan called Vijay Sethupathi a “fantastic actor” and Shahid Kapoor a “lovely actor,” highlighting the camaraderie on set. He even referred to Kay Kay Menon as “fabulous” in his craft, describing himself as an “orchid” surrounded by these talented “roses.”
Farzi Season 1, which premiered on February 10, 2023, consisted of eight thrilling episodes and featured Rashii Khanna, Regina Cassandra, and Manoj Bajpayee in pivotal roles. The series follows Shahid Kapoor’s character, Sunny, a disillusioned artist grappling with income inequality, and Vijay Sethupathi’s Michael Vedanayagam, a Special Task Force officer.
