Bhumi Pednekar replied to Ratna Pathak Shah’s comment that stars are overly dependent on their crew’s comments.

Bhumi Pednekar, who is currently promoting her film Bheed with Rajkummar Rao, responded to Ratna Pathak Shah’s comment on the stars.

After Ratna Pathak Shah compared new-age celebs with “three-month-old babies” and mocked her for recruiting them, Bhumi Pednekar has her personal take on how it is to stay ‘grounded’ with her craft helps. It was during a recent chat with Film Companion, when the actress was promoting her upcoming film Bheed, that she was asked how the crew and vanity van affect her performance. Bhumi believes that one has to disconnect from the outside world in order to remain true to one’s character. And a simple addition to the vanity van gives a safe and homely environment to do the needful.

However, he also acknowledged that disconnection from the world can happen even when one is sitting idly in the middle of a crowded set. Bhumi said that it is completely a person’s personal choice and it should be respected. “I think it’s more about how isolated you are from the outside world. I could be sitting in a chair in the middle of my set and still not talk to anyone, or I could be in my van Could have been the one I used to prepare. Everyone’s views are respected but I think with every generation..it’s up to us how we want to stick to our craft, we How do you want to stay connected to the ground?

Earlier, while interacting with the same portal, Ratna Pathak Shah bluntly called out the celebs who have a habit of traveling with a convoy. He questioned their level of dependency, highlighting a personal experience where he saw an assistant handing a cup of coffee to an actor. She said, “Coffee is brought by an assistant, the assistant opens the cup, the actor takes a sip, hands it back to the assistant. What are you? 3-month-old baby? That you can’t even hold a cup? This of dependency.” level?

But Bhumi Pednekar considers herself lucky to have had the privilege of having a vanity van reserved for her. She considers herself fortunate as it provides a ‘safe space’ for her, “It’s about creating a democratic environment around you, that keeps you grounded.”

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Bhed traces the biggest migration of people in India that happened during the lockdown in 2020 as people moved to be safe from the virus. Apart from Bhumi, actor Rajkummar Rao plays the lead role in the film, which is slated to hit the big screens on March 24.
