Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister ashwini vaishnav and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan On Friday, the new modern LHB rake (08445/08446) of Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar was flagged off. Hirakhand Express Through video conferencing from New Delhi.
During his recent visit to Odisha, Vaishnav traveled with passengers in Hirakhand Express. “I had taken feedback from passengers regarding rail services. Thereafter we have introduced new modern LHB rakes in Hirakhand Express to provide better and enjoyable travel experience to the passengers.
He said Linke-Hofmann-Busch The (LHB) coaches in the express train will provide better comfort and shock-free travel to the passengers and will focus on coach safety.
Hirakhand Express covers its journey of 784 kms from Bhubaneshwar to Jagdalpur with stoppages at 21 intermediate stations in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh. The train has 12 coaches and can accommodate 850 passengers. Earlier it had 740 seats in its conventional coaches. With the advent of modern LHB coaches, 10-12 percent more passengers can travel in the train from now on.
LHB coaches were first introduced in 2013 in East Coast Railway (ECOR). Now it has 257 LHB coaches covering 39 important Mail/Express trains. An official source said that ECoR aims to convert its entire 2,100 conventional coaches to LHB coaches in the near future.
Among others, state Science and Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Koraput MP Saptagiri Shankar Ullaka, MLA Suresh Kumar Routray, Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Ananta Narayan Jena, Sushant Kumar Raut and Makaranda Muduli attended the ceremony at Bhubaneswar Railway Station.
