Bhopal man held in Mumbai for threat to scribe | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The cyber crime police on Thursday arrested a college dropout from Bhopal for allegedly posting lewd remarks and death threats to an independent journalist, Accused Siddharth Shrivastav (24) is the first arrest and more arrests are likely in the case.
The threats made by the accused are among the about 26,000 abusive comments received by the journalist. Shrivastav surrendered himself before the cyber police after the notice was served to him after they got his details through the Twitter nodal office.
The cyber police said Shrivastav has an account on Instagram named ‘Thomas Shelby, fu****g peaky blinder’, which is the name of the protagonist from the popular TV series Peaky Blinders.
The police said he had threatened the journalist over her reportage, saying this was her “last warning” and she “must take it seriously”. He issued a death threat and made sexually explicit comments against her, said the police.
Shrivastav works as a salesman. He was remanded in judicial custody.
