Bhumi Pednekar announces new release date of Rajkummar Rao co-starrer Bheed.
Bhumi Pednekar on Wednesday posted a picture on Twitter with ‘Bheed’ co-star Ayushmann Khurrana and director Anubhav Sinha. He announced the release date of the film as March 24, 2023.
Bheed, starring Bhumi Pednekar, will hit the theaters on March 24. Confirming the news through a tweet, Bhumi shared a picture from the shoot of the film with Anubhav Sinha and actor Rajkummar Rao in the frame. “Presenting BHID, a social drama, that highlights the contradictions and complexities our nation navigates through some of its most difficult times! Releasing in theaters on March 24, 2023.
Bhumi, who was cast in Bheed in October last year, is seen in the photo with Anubhav and Rajkummar dressed in police uniform. All three seem to be engrossed in a discussion related to the dialogues to be played.
People in the comments section have wished the actress all the best for the release and expressed their enthusiasm for the film. Many are also eagerly waiting for popular TV actress Kritika Kamra’s performance in the film.
Bheed, directed by Anubhav and Bhushan Kumar, is a socio-political drama set against the backdrop of the pandemic-induced lockdown. Fans are eagerly waiting for the pairing of Bhumi-Rajkummar, who were earlier seen together in Badhaai Do. Looking at his previous hard-hitting films like Mulk, Thappad and Article 15, there are some big expectations from Anubhav as well.
It will be a busy year for Bhumi, who has five films lined up for release in 2023 apart from ‘Bheed’. Her roles in ‘Afwaa’, ‘The Ladykiller’, ‘Bhakshak’ and ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ are in the news.
Bhumi had earlier said that “With six films releasing this year, I am telling that 2023 will be my year in cinema as an actor. Looking at the diversity of these films and the powerful women that I will be essaying in the film, I don’t think I can push myself further as an artist to portray a variety of roles.”
Bhoomi will start 2023 with the release of Sudhir Mishra’s Afwa, which would scare even Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Talking about the project, Mishra said, “Afvaah is a thriller that carries a very important message in present times. I am glad that the release date has finally arrived and I am really looking forward to its release. The super-talented combo of Bhumi and Nawaz have given their best to this unconventional tale and I am sure the audience will love watching them on the big screen.
The film also stars Sharib Hashmi, Sumeet Kaul, Sumeet Vyas and Rocky Raina in pivotal roles.
