‘Bhawai’ trailer: Here’s why #ArrestPratikGandhi is trending on Twitter

New Delhi: Gujarati actor Prateek Gandhi gained recognition when he played the lead role in Hansal Mehta’s popular web series ‘Scam 1992’. He played the titular character of Harshad Mehta and garnered much praise for his performance in the series.

Ever since the premiere of the web series, fans are eagerly waiting for his next project. Last year, Prateek Gandhi announced his first Hindi feature film as a lead actor – ‘Bhavai’, earlier titled ‘Raavan Leela’. The trailer of the film was released earlier this month and soon after, it received criticism for the title on social media as a section of people felt that it hurt religious sentiments. The makers changed the title of the film to avoid further controversies.

However, it seems that there is more trouble for the team of ‘Bhavai’ as netizens have started trending #arrestpratikgandhi, #banravanleela_bhavai on Twitter, as a section of the audience still feels that the trailer hurts religious sentiments. Used to be. Here’s a look at some of the tweets:

Earlier, Prateek Gandhi, while giving an interview to PTI, clarified that the film does not glorify Ravana. He told PTI, “We are not showing any interpretation of Ram or Ravana in the film. The film is not about it at all. So the team thought that if the sentiments of a certain section of the society are hurt, we should change the name. Doesn’t matter if that satisfies them. But I’m sure it’s not an answer to the broader question. We changed the name, but will that solve anything?”

‘Bhavai’ is all set to release in theaters on 1 October 2021.

Meanwhile, other than ‘Bhavai’, Pratik Gandhi will also be seen featuring in ‘Dedh Bigha Zameen’.
