Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several projects in Somnath, Gujarat through video conferencing at 11 am on Friday. The Prime Minister himself gave this information on social media. He wrote that the projects that will be inaugurated include Somnath Promenade, Somnath Exhibition Centre, reconstruction of the old Somnath (Juna) temple complex. Foundation stone of Shri Parvati temple will also be laid in Somnath.

Prime Minister Modi is also the chairman of Somnath Trust (SST). This trust manages the Somnath temple located in Prabhas Patan town of Gir-Somnath district.

These projects will be inaugurated
Of the three projects to be inaugurated in Somnath, the first project is a pedestrian path. Behind the temple, a two-kilometre long ‘Samudra Darshan’ walkway has been prepared on the sea side at a cost of Rs 45 crore. The second project is a museum built near the temple for Rs 75 lakh. The Somnath Exhibition Center, built within the premises of the Tourist Facilitation Center, houses the fragmented parts of the old Somnath temple and the Nagara style temple architecture of the old Somnath.

The third project is of the old (Juna) Somnath temple complex. It has been renovated by Shree Somnath Trust for Rs 3.5 crore. This temple is also known as Ahilyabai Temple, as it was built by Rani Ahilyabai of Indore. At that time the old temple had turned into ruins. The old temple complex has been redeveloped to enhance its capacity along with the safety of the pilgrims.

Parvati temple to be built at a cost of 30 crores
In the last few years, new temples have been built around the Somnath temple. In these, a grand Shri Ram temple has been constructed. Preparations are underway to build Golokdham. Now a grand Shakti Peeth Parvatiji temple will be built in the Somnath temple complex at a cost of Rs 30 crore. It is believed that the temple of Goddess Parvati was situated near the Yagya Mandap. Because of this the temple is being built at the same place. In this, the temple construction, sanctum sanctorum and dance pavilion will be prepared in Sompura Salat style.

A view of the Arabian Sea will be visible from the walkway
A quarter of a kilometer long walk-way has been built on the Arabian Sea on the banks of the Somnath temple at a cost of Rs 45 crore. It has been designed on the lines of Marine Drive in Mumbai. With this, the devotees visiting the temple will also be able to see the beautiful view of the sea.

The walkway is also curved along the ocean like Marine Drive in Mumbai. People can walk on it. Here tourists will also be able to see the arrow pillar, which tells the geographical feature of this place. It is indicated by placing an arrow in the summit above that there is no land of earth between the Somnath temple and the South Pole.
