Mamata Banerjee has become the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third time in a row by winning the 2011, 2016 and 2021 assembly elections.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has been re-elected unopposed as TMC President. Party General Secretary Partha Chatterjee gave this information. The ruling Trinamool Congress held party elections after five years. After which Mamta was elected the president. 48 supporters had submitted nominations in favor of Mamta. While no other candidate stood for the post of President. Mamata Banerjee left the party in 1997 due to political differences with the then West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president Somendra Nath Mitra and founded the All India Trinamool Congress with Mukul Roy in 1998. TMC came to power for the third time in a row in May last year after bagging 213 of the 294 seats.
