After 14 months, the central government bowed before the farmers. Prime Minister Modi on Friday announced the withdrawal of agricultural laws. Now the question is, why did the heart of PM Modi or the top leadership of BJP lose heart?

The veteran farmer leader of western Uttar Pradesh and a BJP leader who interfered in the politics of the center gave the answer with a laugh. He says, ‘Those opponents say that BJP does not listen to the public’s mind, they will now have to say that PM Modi also says his Mann Ki Baat and listens to the public’s Mann Ki Baat.’ So what’s the point? They say- Look, politics can never be done by those people who do not understand the direction of the wind.

He told the story behind this decision on the condition of anonymity – “Three months ago in August, discussions started about the farmers’ movement. The entire plan was made from 16 to 25 August. The Kisan Morcha of BJP was given the task of setting up a chaupal among the farmers. Veteran leaders of the agitation-affected areas of UP were asked to participate in the meetings. BJP leader Suresh Rana, State Agriculture Minister Surya Singh Shahi, Rajya Sabha member Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and many other veteran leaders were instructed to attend those meetings.

He says- ‘Since then till now, BJP workers, farmer leaders and Kisan Morcha have been organizing meetings and tractor rallies in rural areas. Not only this, everyone was also asked to prepare a report.

If sources are to be believed, this report was on the assessment of the loss caused to the BJP in UP due to the farmers’ agitation. This report was clearly indicating that the negative impact of the farmers’ movement would be visible on the UP elections. This feedback was given to the government in the middle of October. However, the decision to withdraw the agricultural laws was kept secret. It is the decision of the top leadership.

Why this day for announcement?
According to a top source in the Union Cabinet, there was a sizeable Sikh population in Lakhimpur Kheri. What happened there damaged the image of the party somewhere. Religious occasions magnify the effect of such announcements manifold. Both the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor and then this announcement in the Prakash Parv will work together to reduce the sourness in the minds of the Sikh and farmers community for the BJP government.

Friday was a special day for the farmers. In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Modi withdrew the three controversial agriculture laws.

Friday was a special day for the farmers. In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Modi withdrew the three controversial agriculture laws.

However, the top leadership did not hold any major meeting to take this decision. Therefore, only speculation can be made about choosing this day. Then there are elections in Punjab along with UP, so this decision will have an effect there too.

BJP applied maths, more than 100 seats were affected by the movement
According to sources in the Bharatiya Kisan Morcha, in the 2012 elections, the BJP had won 38 seats in western Uttar Pradesh. In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP won 88 seats. That is, there was an advantage of 50 seats. The BJP performed well in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as well.

In the upcoming elections, about 100 seats out of 110 seats in western UP were showing a significant impact of the farmers’ movement. This included areas like Meerut, Baghpat, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Badaun, Saharanpur. Along with this, there was also a loss in seven seats of UP of Bundelkhand.

The feedback clearly said ‘we will not lose but seats will be less’. On the other hand, the alliance of RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary and SP in western UP was making every effort to make this loss even more. Jayant Chaudhary is constantly holding meetings and meetings in Western UP. Thousands of people are attending his meetings.

If the power is there then the image will survive.
Another veteran leader of western UP who has been involved in meetings and chaupals with farmers for the last three months. He says- ‘Opponents will call it a U-turn of Modi government, will call it coming on the back foot. There will be dents on the image, but if you remain in power, then the image will also remain. There will be many more opportunities to create images.

If the size of the power is also reduced, then the spirits of the opposition will be raised. The message is clear – we will thwart every move of the opposition. So is this also an attempt by the Congress to sabotage Priyanka Gandhi’s visits? He says- I said, whoever the opposition is, BJP can also take tough decisions for the benefit of the public and can also play political tricks to thwart the opposition’s move if needed.

Announcement of withdrawal of agricultural laws and PM’s UP visit simultaneously

PM Modi is constantly on the tour of UP. He is going to different districts of UP and laying the foundation stone of many schemes.

PM Modi is constantly on the tour of UP. He is going to different districts of UP and laying the foundation stone of many schemes.

PM Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to Mahoba, Jhansi and Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh from November 19 to November 21. He has contributed about Rs 3250 crore including the Arjuna subsidiary project in Mahoba. plans have been launched.

Earlier, the inauguration of the expressway and before that the inauguration of nine medical colleges in the districts of Purvanchal including Siddharthnagar and Gorakhpur are being seen as gifts to the public before the upcoming elections in UP. Before Diwali, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of a damru-shaped temple of Shiva during his visit to Banaras.

He also made many more promises including the gift of e-buses to the general public. Overall elections may be held in UP, but it has put force on the forehead of the Centre. Both the states and the Center are working together to reduce the potential loss.

The decision will ease Amarinder’s path in Punjab
An official of the Bharatiya Kisan Morcha said, “The Centre’s decision in favor of farmers will have an impact in Punjab as well. It will not directly benefit the BJP, but former Congressman Capt Amarinder may get the benefit of it.

His closeness to the BJP is evident. Therefore, he will tell the people that he has prepared the Center to accept the demands of the farmers. BJP will let him take credit and give him the issue of winning in the state. The gains made to Capt Amarinder will help the BJP find its land in Punjab.

Former veteran leader of Aam Aadmi Party Sucha Singh ‘Chhotepur’ also says, ‘Modi government has given a gift to the Sikhs. Kartarpur Corridor opened and now agricultural laws withdrawn. Now the people of Punjab will say their thanks to the Modi government by giving their support to the BJP ally in the elections.

Sucha Singh is an effective leader in Punjab and he is also talking about joining any political party again. In response to the question of which party he will join, he says, ‘Neither the Congress nor the Aam Aadmi Party.’ His indication is clear. He has told his choice without informing.
