Bharat Biotech slows down production of Covaxin: On suspension from WHO, said – Vaccine is completely safe, certificate is still valid

After the suspension of Covaxin by the World Health Organization (WHO), Bharat Biotech, the company that made it for the first time, has issued a clarification. The company said – Covaxin is still effective to protect against Kovid. Vaccination certificates are also valid for those who have taken Covaxin doses. The company has currently slowed down the production of Covaxin.

A spokesperson of Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech said – The company is slowing down the production of Covaxin for facility optimization. In the coming time, we will bring it again in an updated way. For this, the company will focus on its maintenance, manufacturing process and facility optimization activities. During the last year all existing facilities were updated to manufacture Covaxin, with continued production.

Covaccine was the most prominent drug for prevention of COVID-19 in emergency. The company had kept all the criteria strict to make the vaccine. Bharat Biotech said – The quality of Covaxin has not been compromised at any time. The company also clarified that they have been meeting the requirements while working towards improvement and development to meet the global requirement.
