According to the former Indian spinner, MS Dhoni is No. 1 in world cricket even today, and there’s no one better than him behind the stumps.
Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday (July 19) to give a savage reply to a Pakistani journalist for comparing MS Dhoni and Mohammad Rizwan. The Pakistani journalist had posted a picture of Dhoni and Rizwan on X and asked his followers to pick the better player between the two.
The viral post on X caught Harbhajan’s attention, and he schooled the Pakistani journo by stating that it was a silly question to ask. According to the former spinner, he thinks Rizwan is a good player who always plays with intent, but his comparison with Dhoni is wrong.
“What r u smoking nowadays ???? What a silly question to ask . Bhaiyo isko batao . DHONI bhut aage hai RIZWAN se Even if u will ask Rizwan he will give u an honest answer for this . I like Rizwan he is good player who always play with intent.. but this comparison is wrong. DHONI no 1 even today in world cricket . None better thn him behind stumps,” Harbhajan tweeted.

Dhoni is one of the greatest cricketers of all time and the only captain in the world to win all three ICC white-ball trophies. He made his international debut for India in December 2004 against Bangladesh and went on to play more than 500 matches during his 15-year-long career.
Under his leadership, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013. In addition to that, he also helped India reach the No. 1 position in the ICC Test rankings. Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020 but still features in the IPL, where he is part of the Chennai Super Kings.
Rizwan’s career in numbers
On the other hand, Rizwan made his debut for Pakistan on April 17, 2015, against Bangladesh during an ODI match in Dhaka, and since then, he has played in 30 Tests, 74 ODIs, and 102 T20Is. He has scored more than 7,000 runs in international cricket for the Men in Green and served as Babar Azam’s deputy in the T20 World Cup 2024.
